This is gonna be one hell long of a post.
LTC 2006 - By example we shall leadDay 1Met up with FUSION at 8 am. Oh wait we planned to meet at 8 am but the whole group only arrived at around 9.30 am. We didn’t manage to complete our skit as planned but we did do the nametags. From 8 - 9.30, i was desperately calling people to ask them help me bring a cup and plate, which i left out. Thankfully i managed to if not arh....die. At 10.00 am we had to go report. 2 hours earlier than the rest of the groups. We had to load all the barang barang onto the bus and then left for the camp together with team abAce, which was in charge of icebreakers.
When we reached the camp site we unloaded all the stuff and waited for the various teams to arrive. So after all the admin stuff and putting stuff into our bunks we started with icebreakers. As it is a leadership training camp everything we do teaches us something on leadership one way or the other. So you could say we learnt even while playing games. Interesting to c how all these things are related. okae after ice breakers was dinner. The food wasn't that bad. I never was too picky about food so yah.
After dinner my group was given some time to prepare for campfire. Yet another fruitless attempt i must say haha. Okae after that it was the night walk. Its pretty lame cos ur blindfolded and brought to the starting point. this process is longer than the actual walk itself. one of the person in charge of bringing me around damn lame.
Her: why are you talking to me I’m the spirit of changi beach. you should be afraid of me
Me: hi spirit of changi beach I’m the turtle of changi beach
Her: Turtle?
Me: yah tutle
her: okae??
okae anyway...at the starting point if u turned around u could still c the campsite vaguely. So much for secrecy of starting point. The night walk wasn't scary at all but it did teach me a thing or 2 which i found was the most interesting part about the night walk. At the beginning i was walking dang fast. faster u walk the faster u reach the end. even caught up with the person in front of me. It was only after the half way point that i slowed down significantly and started embracing in the surroundings which although was eerie with all the weird looking trees but yet peaceful. It taught or let me experience 2 things.
1. the end is never as important as the process. begin with the end in mind but enjoy the process.
2. Singapore life is very fast paced, as we all know, just like how I was walking very fast during the first half. And because it is so fast that we neglect and ignore our surroundings. Sometimes if we slow down a little. we'd notice how beautiful our surroundings actually are. With relevance to real life it would be the people around us, our family our friends.
Day 2
Won't have much detail as first day. from morning to evening we went through high elements, low elements. I don't think theres a need for me to go into detail for each and every item so yah. after dinner was some lecture. and then we got to rest slightly earlier. This about sums up day 2 haha.
Day 3
Started the day with another lecture again..i tink. then after lunch it was off to kallang for dragon boating. 2nd time in my life i'm dragon boating. There was alot alot of splashing of water. there were times where u could really feel the boat moving also which is great. hands were severely worn out after the thing. So when we were all worn out n half dead and expectedto go back to camp. we were brought to somewhere else for beach games. Heard jerome peed nito the water. and just about everyone filled their mouth's with sea water to fill the bottle. Oh yah 2 things also happened. 1 pierre carried someone into the sea lovingly. Someone carried jasmine into the sea lovingly. 2 seperate issues. was sharing lame jokes with zhihan while going back to the camp site. we nearly died from the lameness. My group was assigned to eat first. but b4 we ate we had to be rinsed down with water lah. We were told to stand shoulder to shoulder. haha i told the cher difficult lah. Because of that i got major splashed with water..not that im complaining. and got smacked by maine. go figure.
After that was campfire. our team finally decidedto do a skit cum song. we were supposed to sing together. but then i forget lyrics then they all blur blur becaome a total mess.i zao sia lyk free also. after 3 days of screaming of cos lah. but hey first public performance. movie screening was at 11.30. my first open theatre experience. quite cool. tahan all the way till 1.3o am b4 i slept.
Day 4
Had to wake up at 6.30 which meant i slept slightly over 4 hours. Morning pt was just a couple of push ups with no endurance run. after breakfast it was cleaning up of camp site. my group in charge of logistics so we didnt have to clean up any place. Being in charge of logistics also meant that we didnt have togo for the hike back to school. to be more precise the hike to some pick up oint where buses picked them up. we had to load everyone's bag into the bus. we reached school significantly earlier then the rest so i took the time to go play some bball. ended up perspiring like crazy. when everybody was back we had to assemble back in the hall where they turned on the aircon. perspiring lyk mad guy plus aircon = sick on tuesday. anywayz we had to qrite some personal message to people lah. iw rote to 8 people 3 of which i think was suaning them. received one that told me to stop suaning him or her and i have no idea who it is. i have yet to give 1 more away. haha and when i read through wat i wrote i find it quite lame but nvm lah. thats what i am. lame.
Thats about it for ltc. may have missed out a thing or 2 but lets not dwell on it. i started blogging about ltc in the morning but only finshed at night. after i finished day 1 i went to sleep and everything which is y day 2 and 3 so short. was really tired yesterday. was suppose to wake up at 10 pm yesterday night but i didnt hear my alarm. both my hp and my dad who tried to wake me up. shows how deep into slumber i was. And so i accidentally pangsehed kakak. =D paiseh arh..but theres always tonight anyway. oh and to my other kakak whos going to aust for the economics trip..take care of urself...u owe me 2 prizes =D...
